An historic Kent landmark will come to life with music and dancing next month when it hosts a lively disco.
Providing a unique opportunity to explore the fascinating history found within the walls of Maidstone Museum, the Soul Intention Disco will be held on Saturday, April 5.
Following the success of the 80s-themed disco held at the attraction last year, the public is once more invited to a night at the museum full of dance, music and culture. The ticketed event will be held between 7.30pm and 11pm.
Guests can expect to hear hits from legendary artists including Marvin Gaye, Jackson 5, Aretha Franklin, James Brown and Gloria Jones as DJ Debora V hits the decks. Entry to the event costs £15 per person.
Open to over 18s, the disco will feature a limited payable bar provided by ‘Craft Brewed’. Maidstone Museum is situated within a Grade II-listed building dating back to the 16th century, with the museum itself established 1858.

It houses more than 600,000 artefacts and specimens, with exhibits on Ancient Egypt, archaeology, natural history, fine art and local Kent history.
Cllr Stephen Thompson, Cabinet Member for Healthier, Stronger Communities at MBC said: “The 1980’s disco was a great night out.
“Holding it in such a historic building really added to the party atmosphere. The Council is very proud to be able to offer our residents and visitors such a range of things to see and do when they come to the County Town of Kent, and this is another great example of what is on offer.”
“Maidstone Museum is a fantastic place to visit and hosts so many different exhibitions and events including this Soul Disco.” Tickets for the event can be purchased through the Maidstone Museum website .
